Toes in the Sand

I found this on Pinterest yesterday and it summed up my sentimates exactly!

Thinking about what to pack the other day got me thinking about what I’m going to be reading and I thought it would be great to invite you guys to give me some recommendations!  Here’s some of the beach reading and books I have enjoyed recently:

The Orchid House by Lucinda Riley was really intriguing and bit of present day and historical fiction.  I really fell in love with the characters in this book and found myself sad when I was done!

The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen is just one of the many books by her that I have read and I love this Rizzoli series of them.  She has a way of writing these medical thrillers that have me racing through pages.

What’s beach reading without a little mindless smut romance?  Admittedly I read Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James on our honeymoon, as well as the other books in the series.  After book 2 I’d really had enough of the characters, but I can’t leave a book midstream so stuck with it.  If you need some mindless (but provoking!) reading ask your girl friend for a copy – I’m sure she has one!

The Fault in our Stars by John Green I only read very recently.  It was recommended to me by my 12 year only niece and I have to say was an AMAZING read.  I flew through it in a weekend and think I’m going to reread it on vacation.  It so well written and filled with all sorts of wonderful messages about living (and dying).

So there’s some of my recent reads.  PLEASE shout out some other recommendations if you have them!  I love to read, read quickly,  and wish I could do it more.  If I’ve got these few days coming with my toes in the sand I can easily go through a dozen books, so the more I can bring the better! What do you like to do while you’ve got time off and your toes in the sand?

Thanks for sticking with these couple non-diy posts!  I’ll get back to it after a little spring-break of our own!
