Well, I said I was falling for Fall and boy, did I! We took advantage of the incredible Saturday weather to get our flower boxes and yard spruced up for the season!
I created cute window box displays using a small pumpkin and loads of mums.
Lowes was having their end of season sale so I was able to pick up this fiberglass urn for only $18!
I’d love to have the real-deal cast iron ones someday, but this was a nice price tag to swallow for now. To maintain drainage and save on topsoil, I filled the bottom of the urn with empty water bottles first, then filled dirt over it. Gravel would work too, but the water bottles still keep it light enough to be able to move around easily. We picked up the white pumpkin at a local farm stand.
We went a little crazy with the mums and planted them in both the front and backyard gardens!
They may not come back next year, but I didn’t really care about that. I just love the colors of fall and I love mums! They add such a happy colorful flair to the season! We’re also working on some festive decor inside and finally finishing painting the window trim, so we’ll be back with those updates as well!
What are you guys doing to get ready for fall? Do you decorate at all or just start the countdown to Christmas?
