So Cooperstown was great and super cute, but we really couldn’t wait to be here!
Can you blame us? The cottage was exactly like it was described and was charming! We had everything we needed and then some! We got there, unpacked and Jake jumped right outside to enjoy what we came for… fishing!
The fish weren’t biting too much this first evening, but we enjoyed a spectacular sunset, even though it was quite windy! By the way, if anyone out there has some tips on how to get your dog to start taking photographs, please chime in! It’d be great to have some pictures with both Jake and I in them!
The house really was just like I showed you all in the first post about it, but I couldn’t help myself and rearranged the sunroom… it just looked more cozy this way!
The next morning, we basically hopped out of bed the minute the sun came up and headed straight for the
lake store since we mistakenly forgot to actually purchase the Tim Horton’s coffee we were holding the night previously. One downside is that the stores in this area are a 40 minute ride back and forth, but we were on vacation, right? So what’s the rush… Jake did the trip for us and once he got back, we were back in action and headed outside! The fish were just dying to meet us this first morning! Jake caught some perch right out the the gate.
Check out this huge haul – Bass Masters, look out!
I even caught one!
I left Jake to go make some breakfast, but he came up to the house to show me some sunfish he caught and introduce them to Birdie.
He was doing so well out there other fishermen started creeping in!
While I had the nerve to call Jake in for breakfast we even watched one of them catch a bass right near our dock! Thieves!! 🙂 Convinced our bass was now in the hands of another, we decided to call it a day fishing and headed out to play some golf. The Elms course was literally within walking distance so that was great and really convenient. I have to apologize now because we play so much golf and were walking so I didn’t bring my camera. Bad Blogger. 🙁 The course was nice, though, and pretty quiet so we got to play just the two of us. I shot the round of my life (so far)! Fishing must’ve have agreed with me earlier that day and set my game straight! Don’t ask me how I played later in the trip.. I’ll plead the fifth.
It was a great way to start off the vacation! The cottage had ridiculously small coffee cups so tomorrow I’ll tell you how we rectified that and did a little shopping someplace…unique. Yeah, unique works!
Have a great day!
