Did you know that Memorial Day used to be called Decoration Day? It’s a nice day to honor men and women who have served and protect our right for freedom. Our town does it’s part by holding a parade, which we went to this year. It was just so darn cute we fell in love with this place over and over again! (sorry for the terrible iPhone photos!)
Our parade started with our local police and fire department and then had all the classic Memorial Day entries like military, veterans, classic cars, marching bands and the boys/girl scouts. No joke, I even saw our Mayor kissing babies!
The kids and parents all lined the streets and there were even vendors selling all those balloony things and bubbles for the kids. The minute men also marched on by! Cute, huh?
My favorite part was watching all the veterans come over and shake this guy’s hand and give him flags. No joke it brought tears to my eyes as I was watching. I just love seeing people support our military veterans!
It was such a sweet little parade and we just loved how “all-American” it felt! So hometown USA! We were thankful the weather broke out just about when the parade was done as well and the sun came out finally!
