It’s taking us quite a bit of time to hang things around the house like I mentioned here. We just can’t seem to commit! Art though.. art I like. It seems in particular I like art with trees, and hues of yellows, reds and golds. After finding a piece on Joss and Main, I decided it was just the thing we needed!
It’s a real pretty acrylic or oil on canvas that was marked down from $74ish to around $34ish, so the price was just right. It has very similar hues that we have in our living room art as well, so although I think I want to pull more blues into the dining room this piece really worked from the angle that we’ll see it from most of the time, but should also blend well as we add in pieces with other colors.
And here’s another close up. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the sky and the water have blue tones in them, so I’m hoping to pull off of those (although deeper) into the space with other art pieces, textiles, or accessories.
That’s one more blank space down! Slow but sure, we’re getting there. Just need to complete a few more things on this Dining Room list:
- Add crown molding
- Trim out the slider door
- Switch the window trim to craftsman style
- Find accessories and plates for the hutch
- Add wall shelving
- Recover antique chairs
- Add a carpet
- Hang more art/pictures/mirrors
- Install (and center) new chandelier
- Possibly add shadow boxes?
Plus a new table, new chairs, linens, candlesticks…. yeah, it’s a long list! Stay tuned, though… we’ll get there; Slow but sure. 🙂
